The fastest growing film event in the UK, The Glasgow Film Festival is dedicated to showing the best of Scottish and international film to a wide audience. Offering screenings, lectures, discussions and workshops within the festival, you can even meet with the film makers from Scotland and around the world to get up close to the art of film making.
The Glasgow City Sightseeing Tour is an ideal opportunity to take a spin around the city to get an idea of the highlights. The big red opened-top busses operate a hop-on hop-off policy with your ticket, so you can take a closer look when you see something you like and then just get on the next one when you’re done. There are 21 stops around the city and the busses arrive every 15 minutes so you’re never going to be waiting for long. The ticket is valid for two days so you don’t have to rush your sightseeing experience.
Very soon you will be able to experience very rare opportunity to hear the only surviving example of chamber music by Gustav Mahler. The concert will feature a work by the infamous Alfred Schnittke based on Mahler. The line-up, Brahms’s third piano quartet, made of Jacqueline Shave on Violin, Fiona Winning on Viola, Robert Irvine on Violoncello and Aaron Shorr on Piano.
This year will be the 6th Aye Write Festival and it’s been getting and better ever since. Hosted by the Mitchell Library, Europe’s largest public library in Europe, the event will be packed with an awesome line-up. Celebrating the rich variety of Glasgow literature along with the best of Scottish and international writers providing a tantalising mix of fiction and non-fiction, poetry and prose, crime, comedy, politics and debate.
